Finding delightful decor for our homes while prioritizing sustainability has become increasingly essential. Like many, I'm constantly exploring ways to create beautiful spaces that also respect the environment.
Luckily, the interiors sector is gradually adapting to meet our desire for eco-conscious choices, making it easier for us to care for our planet.
1. Choose Eco-Friendly Paints

Starting with high-quality, eco-friendly paints can set the right tone. My go-to colors from the Designers Guild Perfectly Plain Paint collection include shades like Emerald, TG Blue, and Chalk. These paints are low in VOCs, washable, and water-based, allowing you to refresh your space with peace of mind.
2. Opt for Natural Fibers

Natural materials such as paper, linen, cotton, and wool are excellent options for your decor. Be on the lookout for the Oeko Tex and Better Cotton certifications, which signify responsible production. Fabrics like our Cassia Cord fabrics reflect this commitment (above). Collections like Watkin (below) and Lisbon from Designers Guild are stylish yet responsibly sourced. I'm proud of their eco-friendly credentials.

When accessorizing, remember to incorporate simple fibers and textures to enhance your home's style. Our organic cotton bed linen and matching Loweswater towels (below) are both Oeko Tex-approved and luxurious while being sustainably produced. The bed linens, available in six delightful shades, come in fabric bags that avoid plastic packaging, which is an added bonus.

3. Recyclable Products and Packaging
Many accessories can be confidently used in your home. Some of my favorite home fragrances, like Green Fig and Waterleaf, come in recyclable packaging and are crafted from soy wax in glass containers that can be reused.

Recycling plastic bottles can lead to the creation of attractive and practical products. The Saliya rug and the Cortez rug are popular options in our collection.
