This appetizer is one of those delightful creations I initially hesitated to share. It feels more like an idea than a recipe, but after so many requests on social media, I had to share its creamy goodness. I've made it several times recently, and it's a hit!

Make sure your figs are perfectly ripe and sweet since they play a crucial role in this dish. If figs are out of season, feel free to swap them for cherries, peaches, or pears for equally tasty results. Enjoy!

Ingredients Needed
- 1 ball of fresh burrata (fresh mozzarella works too, but it changes the flavor slightly)
- 1/2 cup of pesto, either store-bought or homemade (I love using cilantro or mint pesto for this)
- 8 ripe figs, halved
- Ciabatta or any rustic French bread, sliced
- For garnish: flaky sea salt (like Maldon), fresh mint, and extra-virgin olive oil
Preparation Steps
- Brush olive oil over the bread slices and toast them under a broiler or on a grill until they're golden and crisp.
- In a serving bowl, place the burrata and drizzle it with some pesto. Arrange the halved figs around it, then serve with the grilled bread, extra figs, and more pesto. Finish with a sprinkle of salt, fresh mint leaves, and a drizzle of olive oil.
- Let everyone assemble their own burrata toasts!
