What influences your food approach?
Growing up in both London and the countryside gave me unique culinary perspectives. I had access to a multicultural city's diverse foods while enjoying farm-to-table living. My Italian Nonna inspired my passion for cooking, teaching me to make pasta and sauces from scratch. This hands-on experience laid the foundation for my love of quality homemade food.
How did your culinary career begin?
Initially, I pursued acting in TV and film, moving from London to LA to further my career. When the acting path diverged, it felt natural to embrace my passion for food and share my cooking with others. I often brought my recipes to set, and eventually, I began cooking for small events and dinner parties. After collaborating with an agency that provided chefs to celebrities, my culinary journey took off.
As my business grew, I shifted from private cheffing to focus more on nutrition coaching, helping young individuals facing cancer treatment. I'm also developing recipes and working on my anti-inflammatory cookbook.

During Covid, my husband and I sought a peaceful retreat away from Melrose Place in West Hollywood. After exploring Beachwood Canyon, we fell in love with a house that came on the market shortly after. It felt like destiny, especially as I was finishing chemotherapy and needed a soothing space to heal with plenty of natural light and nearby hiking trails.
We only needed to paint upon moving in, and after settling, we're now planning some renovations. My favorite spot is the living room with a stunning view of the Santa Monica mountains, filled with sunlight.

What makes a great gathering for you?
I draw inspiration from farmers' markets, decorating with fresh flowers and gathering quality ingredients for cheese or crudités boards. A signature seasonal cocktail kicks off the evening, followed by natural wines and a warm atmosphere with candles and music. I enjoy serving seasonal dishes family-style and ending the night with board games and laughter, always finishing with cups of tea.

I'm not a morning person; I usually rise around 7:30 a.m. After making a green juice and breakfast, my day varies widely. I might shop for dinner party ingredients, coach clients on nutrition, or film content at home.
Evenings often involve taking my dog, Paddington, to the park or dining out with friends. If I've had a busy day, you can find me relaxing in a bubble bath with a good book or working on recipes for my website, Chloë's Kitchen.

I can't live without a Dutch oven, like my Staub or Le Creuset, and a cast iron skillet. They're versatile for stovetop and oven cooking. I also adore my KitchenAid mixer for making anything from pasta to cakes.

I'm currently enjoying The Cook Book of All Time for its connection to a great restaurant in LA. I also appreciate Julius Roberts' cookbook for its nostalgic ties to the English countryside. My go-to for baking is the Sweet Laurel Bakery book, which focuses on grain-free, refined sugar-free, and dairy-free treats.

Discover Chloe's Short Rib Ragu RecipeWhat are some staples in your refrigerator?
You'll find ingredients for green juice, fresh berries, organic pasture-raised eggs, cocojune yogurt, and farmers' market hummus with veggies. I also prep wild blueberry chia puddings, protein balls, and almond butter-stuffed chocolate dates for sweet cravings. And don't forget a bottle of Avaline Sauv Blanc!
Your signature dishes for gatherings?
My spinach and artichoke dip, inspired by Houston's, is a crowd favorite. Other popular dishes include Mediterranean shrimp, roasted lemon & thyme chicken, citrus salmon, and my short rib ragu. For dessert, my key lime pie and banoffee pie are always hits.

Your go-to weeknight meal at home?
I keep it simple with anti-inflammatory meals like lentil mushroom bolognese with spaghetti squash, chickpea spinach cauliflower curry, grilled salmon with veggies, or turkey chili over baked sweet potatoes. I enjoy soups in colder months. I follow the 80/20 rule, keeping weekdays clean and light while allowing indulgences on weekends.
Any budget-friendly hosting tips?
Use herbs like rosemary and thyme for decoration instead of flowers. Ask friends to bring wine, serve affordable proteins like organic chicken, and pair them with simple salads and roasted veggies. Trader Joe's offers a variety of cheeses, nuts, and inexpensive flowers.

Favorite conversation starter?
I like asking guests about their favorite childhood movies. Mine were The Secret Garden and Little Princess. I also enjoy discussing current shows, documentaries, and books.
What's on your perfect dinner party playlist?
I love my Dinner With Friends playlist on Spotify, blending classic oldies with fresh tunes.
Go-to centerpiece idea?
I enjoy using a vintage wooden bowl filled with seasonal produce. Currently, mini white pumpkins add a fall touch. I also like to include candles and flowers.
What's your no-stress party rule?
Prep in advance to enjoy time with friends. Reheat before serving and leave the dishes for the next day to fully savor the evening.
Dream dinner guests?
Queen Ina Garten and perhaps my childhood crush, Michael J. Fox.
Fill in the blank:
A perfect meal should: nourish both body and soul, balancing indulgence with health.
It's not a dinner party without: candles, music, good wine, and an inviting atmosphere.
Every cook should know how to: trust their instincts, embrace mistakes, taste as they go, and create connections through food.
