This year, I'm thrilled to set a cozy Thanksgiving table filled with warm candles, delicious food, and, most importantly, family. After a year of limited gatherings, this occasion feels extra special.
Setting a warm and inviting table is a fantastic way to add joy to our lives right now. I wanted to create a practice setup for our family Thanksgiving and share my ideas with you!
With a busy week leading up to the shoot, I aimed to use items I already had, along with some grocery store finds and branches from my yard. I was pleasantly surprised by how refreshing these repurposed items felt when arranged in a new way!

My goal is to inspire you to use what you already have, infuse creativity, and embrace the beauty of fall. With nature and your personal style guiding you, I believe you'll create a unique Thanksgiving table. This year's Thanksgiving will be different than usual. While most of my family is local, my brother, Collin, his wife, Beth, and their adorable daughter, June, will be flying in from St. Louis. I'm hopeful that travel restrictions won't keep them from joining us, as I'm looking forward to June's cuddles!
After discussing with my in-laws, they decided not to join this year, which underscores the importance of setting personal boundaries. While we'll miss them dearly, their comfort and safety are what matter most.
Even though I'm preparing the table, our plans may shift depending on the weather and current circumstances. We might end up dining outside to stay safe!

I love using seasonal food as a centerpiece. For my table, I crafted a simple cheese board featuring some favorites: a wedge of good parmesan, sliced figs, Italian olives, prosciutto, and a ripe pear. A vibrant pomegranate adds a beautiful pop of color.
Instead of flowers, I gathered some branches from our olive tree and laid them along the table for a natural touch.

Everything on my table, except for the groceries, was already in my home. I had groceries delivered, so I didn't even need to step out! Over the years, I've amassed a collection of linen runners, tablecloths, and napkins that feel timeless. They can transform the table's look based on the accessories I choose.
I'm passionate about dishes — beautiful stoneware and pottery excite me! I try to stick with a neutral palette to mix and match pieces for a fresh look. I balance more expensive handmade items with affordable finds, giving everything a unique feel.

I found some dried wheat from Trader Joe's and used it for each place setting. I clipped a few sheaves and arranged them in bowls with star anise from the grocery store. The wheat's shape and the spicy aroma added an inviting touch.
This runner may be sold out, but I adore linens from Madame de la Maison, which are timeless investment pieces. I also love these napkins and the small stoneware bowls from Gjusta Goods. Fun fact: the granola bowl was designed for their restaurant, Gjusta, one of my favorites!

My main plates are everyday pieces from Heath Ceramics, while the glassware is a mix of my great grandmother's crystal and Anthropologie coupes for a vintage feel.
I also incorporated some delightful finds from Target, like this extra long cheese board that serves as a perfect centerpiece. The woven pumpkins add an earthy vibe, and while they're sold out, these similar ones are adorable. I can't forget about my favorite matte black flatware, which always surprises people with how affordable it is!

These Jenni Kayne candlesticks are a bit of a splurge, but they add a touch of elegance to every setting.
