Shop NowCreating this candle was a journey, driven by my desire to make something truly special. As a self-proclaimed candle enthusiast, I've tried many, but often they lack a distinctive scent. Daybreak is different—it captures that thrilling sensation of discovering something entirely new.
Crafting a candle involves far more than I anticipated. It took over a year to perfect it. We began with the fragrance, collaborating with a scent developer in Los Angeles to blend fresh citrus and floral notes, evoking the warmth of sunshine. Drawing from my favorite scents and memories from travels—like the jasmine from St. Tropez and the citrus from Capri—we finally settled on our signature aroma.
After numerous adjustments, we found the perfect scent profile. It was essential for us to create a non-toxic candle, and we opted for a combination of natural coconut and soy wax, free from parabens, phthalates, and sulfates, and used a 100% cotton wick that burns cleanly.
The design of the candle vessel and packaging was equally important. We partnered with our artist friends at Indoek to craft a vessel that embodies sun-bleached aesthetics with our signature seaweed cutouts. Their coastal-inspired design evokes the warmth of California sunsets. After countless details were finalized, we finally produced our first Daybreak sample.
