As I entered my thirties, I found myself working out more regularly. Years of trying to form a lasting exercise habit never quite succeeded until my motivation shifted. Now, it’s less about appearances and more about boosting my energy and mood. That’s a far stronger motivator than fitting into a particular size.
This uplifting energy inspired Megan Roup to establish her popular sculpt and dance fitness platform, The Sculpt Society. I first learned about TSS when friends raved about its blend of cardio and sculpting during lockdown, exclaiming, “It’s so fun!” The app gained popularity during the pandemic, providing a way to stay active and feel great within our homes. Megan shares:
“My vision is to empower women through movement. I wanted to create a class that’s enjoyable, effective, and simplifies dance cardio so everyone can participate and feel strong, even without prior experience.”

Megan has experienced significant life changes: moving from New York to Los Angeles, becoming a mother to Harlow, and collaborating with her husband, now COO of The Sculpt Society. While her energy is naturally high, she openly discusses the challenges of navigating numerous transitions, a sentiment many of us can understand. I enjoyed discussing her daily rituals that help her stay grounded amidst these shifts. Here’s Megan Roup’s morning routine and how she draws inspiration.

Embracing Transitions
What’s your biggest takeaway from the last year?
So much has changed, and I’m learning to build a reliable support team to focus on my strengths. I tend to take on too much, so recognizing the need for help has been crucial.

What do you do to remain present during change?
I review my schedule to ensure I include downtime. It helps me slow down, enjoy the outdoors, and be more mindful. Busy days can blur together, so time blocking is essential for maximizing productivity.

Megan Roup’s Morning Routine
What does a standard day look like for you?
Each day varies, but I typically wake around 6:30 am with Harlow. Depending on the day, I may film a live session on the Sculpt Society app and follow up with a Zoom call to discuss weekly projects. I also spend time creating content for my followers on TikTok and Instagram, training private clients, and preparing weekly content, playlists, and listening to our community.

What’s the first thing you do upon waking?
I grab coffee and lemon water, spend a few minutes journaling, express gratitude, and (if possible) meditate briefly before waking Harlow.
Next, I prioritize movement. It’s vital for my morning routine, whether it's teaching a class or doing a personal workout. Moving my body kickstarts my day effectively.

Can you describe your beauty routine?
As a mom, it’s much quicker now. Ideally, I would spend five minutes dry brushing, then apply serum, moisturizer, face oil, SPF, and primer. I usually tie my hair up for a workout.

How would you describe your style?
Classic, simple, and feminine.

What’s your breakfast like?
I follow my intuition when it comes to eating. If I feel hungry, I might have an apple with almond butter, Ezekiel toast with avocado and scrambled eggs, or a fruit smoothie.
Megan Roup’s Protein Smoothie Recipe
- Nut milk
- Handful of spinach
- Frozen blueberries
- Frozen banana
- Nut butter
- Protein powder
- Handful of ice
Blend and enjoy!

What’s always in your fridge?
Eggs, coffee, almond milk, avocado, Ezekiel bread, and lately, cottage cheese with blueberries.
What books have influenced you?
One impactful book for me is Women, Food, and God. It led me to healing my relationship with food and introduced me to intuitive eating.

What’s on your nightstand?
CBD oil, a rose quartz crystal, my journal, and the current book I’m reading.
What’s your go-to soundtrack while getting ready?
I enjoy listening to the How I Built This podcast or 90’s hip hop.
If you had to attribute your success to one quality, what would it be?
Tenacity. I’ve faced numerous rejections in my fitness career, yet I’ve maintained self-belief, never giving up, knowing my vision and purpose.
My journey hasn’t been easy. If people realized how often I’ve been told no, they’d understand that success doesn’t come overnight.

Fill in the blanks:
I never leave the house without: applying SPF and taking my Summer Fridays lip balm.
If I had more hours in the day, I’d: take more walks outdoors.
Healthiest morning habit: movement with The Sculpt Society.
Worst morning habit: screen time; it’s often the first thing I do, which isn’t great.
I want to be remembered for: empowering women to feel confident and strong in their bodies.
My biggest fear: balancing family and work while striving for success and being present for Harlow.
One book I always recommend: Women, Food, and God.
One essential trait for success: Tenacity.
Bath or shower? I love a hot shower with Milk & Honey scrub and Naturium body wash.
