This post reflects my personal view on a delicious recipe.
Pasta holds a special place in many hearts. Who doesn't adore it? Just when we thought we had the perfect dish in hand, we discovered a new way to enhance our pasta experience with ready-to-eat options. This gemelli is not only quick to prepare but also incredibly tasty, making it a fantastic choice for busy lunches. The whole process takes only about 10 minutes, making it ideal for hectic workdays.

While I've been enjoying it for quick meals, others in my circle have found it to be a great option for kids' snacks or meals. Just a few additional ingredients can transform it into a fantastic back-to-school solution!

One of the best parts of this dish is that it takes the stress out of cooking pasta perfectly. With that out of the way, you can focus on adding flavors from good ingredients. Here, fresh grated parmesan and basil create an authentic Italian taste. No pasta dish is complete without those fresh herbs!
Ingredients
- 1 pouch of cooked gemelli pasta
- 2 teaspoons olive oil, plus more for drizzling
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/3 lb turkey sausage, casings removed and crumbled
- 1/2 head broccoli, cut into small florets and stem finely chopped
- 14 oz can whole tomatoes in puree
- 1/4 cup basil, torn leaves
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan, plus extra for topping
- Kosher salt and freshly-ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a medium skillet, sauté garlic in olive oil over medium-high heat for about 30 seconds. Add the sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned for a few minutes.
- Add the broccoli to the skillet and sauté for about 3 minutes. Incorporate the tomatoes, breaking them up with the spoon, and simmer for a few minutes.
- Massage the pouch of cooked gemelli, add it to the pan, and heat through. Mix in olive oil and parmesan, tossing to combine.
- Top with basil, more parmesan, a drizzle of olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.

I used to love that cooked pasta option! I can't find them in stores anymore, unfortunately. I used to prepare them in various ways, sometimes with sauce, other times with olive oil, olives, and mushrooms topped with cheese.
