Cozy evenings in front of a sparkling tree get even better with this boozy peppermint hot chocolate.
This drink is truly Christmas in a cup: part festive cocktail, part decadent dessert, all in one tasty sip.

It's also a great option without alcohol for the little ones—just keep an eye on those mugs! Today, I'm excited to share two festive recipes featuring pure peppermint extract, which I've loved using in various drinks, desserts, and even smoothies over the years.
As a peppermint fan, I decided to create a delightful twist on peppermint hot chocolate—both naughty (with booze) and nice (like these peppermint hot chocolate shortbread cookies).

This recipe is one of the simplest holiday treats you can make. And trust me, it's incredibly delicious.
I recommend a blend of whole milk and a splash of cream—after all, it's the holidays, and calories in drinks don't count! Add in pure peppermint extract, vanilla liqueur or pure vanilla extract (depending on your choice), and cocoa powder.
I prefer Dutch-processed cocoa, but regular works well too. Stir while heating on the stove, then go wild with toppings. Whipped cream, marshmallows, and crushed candy canes add a festive touch.

Check out the recipe below and get ready to embrace the naughty list. If you're anything like me, this boozy peppermint hot chocolate will be a seasonal staple until Santa arrives.
