As a lifestyle editor, I relish the diverse topics I cover, from enriching our lives to trending wellness practices. One of my favorite assignments? Interviewing incredible women whose journeys have inspired me, like supermodel and beauty entrepreneur Molly Sims, as she shares her morning routine.

Molly Sims’ Morning Routine
“I almost canceled—but I never cancel,” Molly exclaimed as we met at her Los Angeles residence. The energy was palpable as she juggled a meeting with her YSE team, wrapped up podcast interviews, and prepared for her family's upcoming trip to London.
Yet, when she stepped in front of the camera, Molly radiated energy. Her vibrant eyes sparkled, and her laughter was infectious. A true professional, she embodied warmth and authenticity, even pausing to clear dog mess from her yard mid-shoot. Unlike many celebrities, Molly's approachable nature invites you into her life.
I must mention—Molly’s skin is flawless. Her commitment to beauty is evident in her skincare routine, which we documented eagerly. When discussing YSE Beauty, it’s clear this venture is more than just a business; it’s her passion. With her keen eye for aesthetics, she’s creating a vibrant, inspired life.
Continue reading for our conversation with Molly, covering her must-have morning items to her favorite workouts. I’m confident you’ll find her as refreshing and relatable as we did.

What’s your career journey been like as a model and actress?
I never imagined my career would unfold like this. Growing up in Murray, Kentucky—a town famous for basketball—I didn’t foresee this path. Life often surprises you. I’m grateful for the modeling and acting opportunities that have taken me worldwide and for my venture into the beauty space with YSE Beauty.
Curiosity has always been my driving force, shaping who I am today. Life is about adapting. I once thought about becoming a lawyer due to my love for true crime and politics, but my mother’s influence in beauty inspired my passion for fashion instead.
Life often surprises you.
What have you learned in the past year?
This past year, I welcomed my latest venture, YSE Beauty, into my life. We’re still in the early stages, but it feels rewarding to grow. Building a direct-to-consumer brand has been a comprehensive learning experience, from influencer marketing to product development. I enjoy understanding my customers—who they are and what they need from me. It’s an immersive journey.

What does your typical day look like?
- Wake up with my family in bed; Grey is the last to rise.
- Panic-check my calendar to ensure I’m on track.
- Do Pilates with Erika Rae at Forma Pilates, alternating with cardio.
- Make a delicious cup of coffee with my coconut creamer.
- Breakfast is essential; I often grab egg white muffins from the fridge.
- Get dressed for work; I love dressing up, even in LA.
- Head to the office and tackle my meetings, often ordering bone broth and salad from goop Kitchen for lunch.
- Pick up the kids at 3 p.m., then manage their sports practices.
- We try to squeeze in a dinner amid our busy schedule.
- End the night binge-watching cooking shows, like Nailed It and Is It Cake.
- If I get a moment, I enjoy a red light therapy mask and a cup of Moon Juice Magnesi-om before bed.
When do you wake up?
I typically rise at 6:15 a.m., while the kids wake up at 7 a.m. Grey stirs at 7:40 a.m. and leaves for school at 7:42 a.m.
What’s the first thing you do in the morning?
I usually mediate disputes among the kids, who argue over everything—like whether Grey should stay home from school.

What morning rituals do you have?
I follow my skincare routine and use my Golden Sculpt Face Roller, which I’m quite consistent with—consistency is crucial for results!
What’s your go-to breakfast?
I’ve been making a Vanilla Protein Blueberry Smoothie for ages. My recipe includes:
- Vanilla protein powder
- Collagen
- Flaxseed
- Blueberries
- Vanilla almond milk
If I skip the smoothie, I’ll often have egg white muffins or egg whites on Carbonate Bread with avocado and sriracha.
What’s always in your fridge?
Protein balls, shredded chicken, turkey for pasta, sweet potatoes, and ingredients for harvest bowls.
