Bedrooms
Nook beds are trending, capturing the attention of top designers. Their appeal lies in providing comfort and a cozy retreat, especially after many of us sought solace at home during recent times. These beds serve as ideal solutions for those looking to enhance small spaces.
Whether you're aiming to make a large bedroom feel more inviting or optimize a small room, nook beds are a fantastic choice. They can even turn kids' bedrooms into magical spaces. We’ve gathered some of our top selections to inspire you.
Nook Bed Inspirations
No matter what you call them—nook beds or alcove beds—there are countless ideas available to create your dream retreat. Here are some of the most inspiring designs we've come across.
1. Install a False Wall for a Faux Niche

A nook bed doesn’t necessarily need to be tucked away in an alcove. Sometimes, a bed can simply be placed against a wall in a small, retro-style room. To make the arrangement feel intentional, consider adding a false wall in front of the bed, decorated in a contrasting hue to the rest of the space, as demonstrated by a talented interior designer.
While a small room may appear more compact with this design, the artistic nature of the false wall, paired with thoughtful color choices, can create a welcoming atmosphere.
2. Consider Functionality Alongside Style

When designing a guest bedroom, don’t overlook practical features for your nook bed: think about storage, lighting, and privacy. This alcove bed checks all the boxes with curtains for seclusion, shelving for personal items, and reading lights for convenience.
Visually, this nook bed showcases stunning ceiling wallpaper, enhancing the cozy ambiance of the room.
3. Create a Secret Hideaway for Kids

Children's rooms are often among the smallest in a home, transitioning from nurseries to teen retreats in no time. A nook bed provides a safe and private space for your child, offering comfort and a sense of adventure.

What is an Alcove Bed?
An alcove bed, also referred to as a nook bed or niche bed, is designed to fit into a recessed area created by the room's layout. You can build an alcove bed with a frame around it, featuring an open side for easy access. This frame can be customized with paint, wallpaper, or upholstery, and can include curtains for added privacy. The bed can either stand independently or be integrated into the room's carpentry.
