Every autumn, pumpkin spice takes over, and while it might seem cliché, there's a reason it's beloved. The combination of flavors is incredibly tasty! Since I've been craving pumpkin spice, I'm excited to share a simple smoothie recipe that's perfect for this season. You might find it so enjoyable that you'll want to keep it as your little secret.

Just five basic ingredients are needed — I always have these on hand for quick blending.
- Pumpkin purée
- Frozen banana (for creaminess)
- Almond milk
- Dates
- Pumpkin pie spice
Pumpkin purée is a clever way to sneak in some veggies at breakfast. I usually keep a few cans of organic pumpkin around; if I bake a loaf of pumpkin bread, I can use any leftover purée in this smoothie.
It all goes into my KitchenAid® Pro Line® Series Blender (I just got this for my new kitchen and I can't get enough of it!).
This smoothie is filling enough to replace breakfast, but you can boost the protein with a scoop of plant-based vanilla protein powder. For healthy fats, try using full-fat coconut milk instead of almond milk. Adding chia seeds is also a fantastic way to incorporate protein, fat, and fiber.

I'll admit, I have a soft spot for pumpkin spice! Here are more of my favorite ways to enjoy it:
Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Rolls
Pumpkin Spice Tacos (yes, really!)
Healthier Pumpkin Bread with Walnut-Cinnamon Streusel
Pumpkin Salad with Pomegranate & Cumin Yogurt
I'd love to hear about your favorite pumpkin recipes in the comments!
