I can't help but share my admiration for Remi Ishizuka. For years, she's been a standout on Instagram, showcasing personal growth and authenticity. While social media often highlights only the glamorous moments—like promotions or weddings—Remi's presence stands out because she's genuine and real.
After moving from California to Austin, Texas, Remi's Instagram reflects her experiences running a farm in 2023. Together with her partner, Nate Pontious, she shares adorable moments with sheep, collects fresh eggs, and even calls cows back home. It's both entertaining and enlightening for someone like me from the city. Plus, managing an online fitness brand, HomeBodies, alongside all this makes me wonder: when does she find time to rest?

Meet Remi Ishizuka
Tell us about your career journey and entrepreneurship.
I'm a health and wellness content creator and co-founded HomeBodies, our online workout program. It's amusing because I was once labeled a "skinny fat girl" who thrived on junk food. I struggled with sports coordination, so if someone had predicted I'd become a brand ambassador for leading fitness labels, I would've laughed!

Looking back, every experience—positive or negative—was essential in shaping my current path. It's surreal. I learned diligence from demanding corporate roles and discovered my boundaries after a difficult seven-year relationship. My health had to reach a low point for me to initiate change. Quitting my full-time job was both the worst and best decision, leading to new opportunities.
Being an entrepreneur allows me to express my creativity daily and motivate my online family to pursue healthier and happier lives. It's a blessing I cherish.
I stopped expecting external factors to create happiness, fulfillment, and love.

What's your biggest lesson from the past year?
This past year taught me to generate happiness and wholeness from within rather than relying on external circumstances. Through meditation, I've discovered how to cultivate those feelings myself. It's been pivotal in shaping my life.
How would you describe your style?
My style is comfy, cozy, and sporty.
As for my home, it's minimal, zen, and organic.

What's a typical day like for you?
A typical day involves staying connected with my team through emails while planning, shooting, writing, and scheduling content for my brands @clubhomebodies and @rrayyme.
I often complete edits right after a shoot since it's my favorite part—seeing our hard work come to life is incredibly rewarding.
When do you wake up?
I usually sleep around 10 p.m. and wake up at 6:30 a.m. I'm proud to say I haven't hit snooze in two years! Using an alarm clock in my bathroom has been a game changer. Once I wake, I'm ready to start the day.

What's the first thing you do upon waking?
I immediately dress in my workout gear, brush my teeth, and wash my face (this routine genuinely improves my skin). I'll use a light toner before heading to work out.
What's your pre-workout routine?
Once dressed, I put on my sneakers and head downstairs, where Nate greets me with a delightful espresso shot over oat milk and Texas lavender honey.
I drink water, roll out my mat, and jump into the next HomeBodies workout. I haven't visited a gym in four years, and it saves me so much time!
After my workout, I shower and follow my skincare routine. Before starting my workday, I meditate for 15-30 minutes using Joe Dispenza's techniques, which positively impacts my day. Consistent meditation over the past ten months has given me clarity about my goals and life outlook.

What items do you always have in your fridge?
Cottage cheese (Nate's protein secret), miso paste, fresh meats from the farmer's market, and kimchi.
What are your morning rituals?
I make my bed, get dressed, enjoy coffee, work out, meditate, do my skincare, and then have breakfast before diving into work.
What books do you recommend?

What's always on your nightstand?
A scrunchie, some dried-up contacts (keeping it real), a headlamp for power outages, and AirPods for evening meditations.
What's your go-to getting-ready playlist?
I love anything I can sing along to, especially Rihanna radio on Spotify!
Do you work out in the morning?
I follow HomeBodies PERSIST workouts, a year-long program with new strength sessions three times a week, each lasting 30-40 minutes.
What does your daily outfit look like?
- Vuori Yosemite Bra
- Vuori Daily Legging
- The Upside Sweatshirt
- SeaVees Slippers

If you had an extra hour each morning, how would you spend it?
I'd love to spend more time with the animals on the ranch. Living on a property with 80 sheep, 17 chickens, five goats, two donkeys, four dogs, two pigs, and a cow, there's so much to enjoy beyond just feeding them at sunset.
What practices help you live in the moment?
I focus on being present during meditation, which helps me tap into joy and gratitude. This practice often leads to bursts of laughter or tears of joy.

What's one key to your success?
Perseverance. Consistently showing up, especially on tough days, is crucial. I transitioned to being a full-time content creator after over five years of dedication. In 2020, Nate and I launched a year-long workout program while gyms were closed, and that commitment made a significant impact.
