With the arrival of cooler evenings, it's time to embrace the cozy flavors of fall. I'm ready for some spiced delights, and these donuts are a fantastic choice for the season. They not only taste amazing but are also gluten-free, dairy-free, and guilt-free!

PrintPrint Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup sorghum flour
- 1/2 cup oat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 6 tablespoons extra-virgin coconut oil (liquified)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons freshly grated ginger
- 3 eggs
For the maple molasses glaze:
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
- 2 tablespoons almond milk (or another non-dairy option)
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- A sprinkle of cinnamon
Instructions
- Set the oven to 325 degrees. In a big mixing bowl, whisk together the first eight ingredients. In another bowl, combine maple syrup, eggs, vanilla, ginger, and coconut oil. Gently fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until thoroughly mixed.
- Transfer the batter into a large ziplock bag, snip off a corner to create a 1/2 inch opening, and pipe the batter into a greased donut pan (I used this one). Fill each section to the brim but don't overfill. Bake for exactly 10 minutes, then cool for 5 minutes. Repeat until all batter is used up, yielding two batches of mini donuts.
- To prepare the glaze, mix confectioners sugar in a small bowl until smooth. Then add almond milk, molasses, maple syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon. Whisk until you achieve a smooth, thick consistency. If it's too thin, add more sugar; if too thick, add more milk. Dip each donut into the glaze and let excess drip off. Serve warm and enjoy!
